68 young people from Calvià, students in 4th year of ESO (Obligatory Secondary Education) and 1st year of Baccalaureate, have participated in the XI Edition of Vocational Internships organised by the municipality's Town Hall. They have received accreditation certificate of the internships that have allowed them to know professions first hand. It is a first contact facing the choice of their academic training in the future. In the programme - promoted by the IMEB - CUC (the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries and the Calvià University Centre) - 68 young people have participated together with 64 public and private entities and 112 Vocational Internships have been carried out. To date, 513 young people and 421 organisations have participated and 825 vocational internships have been carried out.

The aim of the project is to offer students the chance to have a real experience in the labour world and meet professionals from different fields who will guide them in choosing their future vocation. Visits to companies are complemented by interviews between young people and professionals and knowledge of the work and academic details necessary to help them in their choice. The internships last between 12 and 16 hours. The professions that have aroused the greatest interest are Medicine, Psychology, Architecture, Biology, Interior Design, and National Police.
