SOLAR PANELS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AT THE SENIOR CITIZENS HOME OF CALVIÀ ALLOWING THAT 30% OF THE ELECTRICAL CONSUMPTION COMES FROM SUSTAINABLE ENERGIES
The Senior Citizens Home of Calvià has completed the installation of solar panels for self-consumption in the building, without passing on the surplus to the electricity network. 76 units have been installed that can produce a total power of 20,000 Watts.
This new installation will mean a considerable energy saving for the building, since it represents 30% of the daily energy consumption, in addition to the economic savings of about 3,000 euros per year, depending on the fluctuation of the electricity price.
The action responds to the commitment that the municipal company 'Llar de Calvià' has made in favour of the use of renewable energy, such as solar energy, which is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the 'Llar'.
The solar panels were installed at the end of October.
