INFORMATIVE NOTE FROM THE LOCAL POLICE OF CALVIÀ

260 SOLIDARY RUNNERS PARTICIPATE IN THE IV TRAIL OF THE CALVIÀ POLICE IN BENEFIT OF ADAYO-PBO

The Paralympic triathlete Álex Sánchez has sponsored the event

Promptly, at 9.30 a.m., as planned, the IV solidarity trail of the Local Police of Calvià took place in support of the 'Help and Guidance on Obstetric Brachial Palsy' (Adayo PBO) association. The organisation has arranged two mountain races for adults: one of 10.2 km, with 150 participants; and another of 15.3 km, with 110 athletes.

Sergio Martínez was the first to arrive in the 10.2 km route, while Gabriel Arnáiz was the first to cross the finish line after running 15.3 km. This year the event has been sponsored by the Paralympic medallist Álex Sánchez, who as a triathlete won a bronze medal in the Beijing Olympic Games.

Both races have been refereed and score for the Mountain Federation, relevant data since around 70% of the registered are federated. The starting point has been es Capdellà (Platges St.), and with tour through the estate of Galatzó, Ses Vinyes and Ses Planes, a route that meets the guidelines required by the Ministry of the Environment of the Balearic Government. At noon, the deputy Mayor of Calvià, Andreu Serra, has handed out the trophies.

In addition, various free of charge Adayo Kids children races for kids up to 12 years old have also been organised. A total of 80 people have enrolled in the minors modality.

On the other hand, it is noteworthy that 20 entities have given support to Adayo-PBO with this solidarity trail and that the Balearic Mountain and Climbing Federation will give this association this year's budget surplus. The income will be allocated to the training of gynecology personnel, midwives and physiotherapists in relation to Obstetric Brachial Palsy. Also, funding for scientific research will be provided.
