XVI CALVIÀ INTERNATIONAL CHESS FESTIVAL 2019
It will take place from 5th to 13th October at the Sala Palmanova
The XVI Calvià International Chess Festival, an event that has the support of Fundación Calvià and Calvià Town Hall, will take place from 5th to 13th October at the Sala Palmanova.
For the XVI International Amateur Open, the participation of around 130 players from over 20 countries is expected. The Festival programme includes, as in past editions, the Chess Campus, which will be held on 5th and 6th Oct. at the Sol Katmandú Park & Resort Hotel.
On 6th Oct., the main novelty of this edition will also take place, the Grand Master, Juan Manuel Bellón, will offer with the International Master, Juan Mellado, a 4-hour Master Class aimed at advanced level players. Grandmaster Juan Manuel Bellón will also be the analyst of the Open Amateur games.
Both, the 'Blitz' Rapid Chess tournament and the Calvià International School Open will be played on 12th Oct. The closing and awards ceremony, in which a snack with typical products will be served, will take place on 13th Oct. at 3 p.m. at the Sala Palmanova.
