CALVIÀ TOWN HALL AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE BALEARIC ISLANDS INTENSIFY THE COLLABORATION TO DEVELOP AN EMPLOYMENT PLAN IN THE MUNICIPALITY
The document, which will be valid for the next 4 years, will emphasise the lines of active employment and training policies that will be carried out in the municipality
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the regional minister for Economic Model, Tourism and Employment, Iago Negueruela, have held a working meeting this morning in the Town Hall to plan joint actions between both administrations. In this sense, the basic lines of a local Employment Plan in Calvià have been laid for the next 4 years, sustaining the effort of the active employment policy lines opened in the last legislature and opening other new lines, especially in training matters.
Guidelines (integrated programmes for young people, two biennial projects); training lines (an average of three annual mixed programmes); training associated with itineraries; training for vulnerable groups and training for unemployed people, were carried out during the last legislature. Regarding economic promotion, there were 3 AODL (Local Employment and Development Agents), two for active employment policies and one for economic promotion. The IFOC (Training and Employment Institute of Calvià) has 4 training centres approved by the SOIB: Palmanova, Santa Ponça, Son Ferrer and Es Generador.
On the other hand, Thomas Cook's bankruptcy and its consequences, and the collaboration that Calvià Town Hall can provide, intensifying efforts in the promotion of the municipality along with the Consell de Mallorca, has been analysed.
The Regional Minister for Economic Model, Tourism and Employment has committed to attend the next Calvià Tourism Forum that will take place at the end of the month, to explain the measures taken by both the State Government and the Government of the Balearic Islands to reduce the impact of the British tour operator bankruptcy and guarantee, as much as possible, employment and connectivity, amongst other actions.
In addition to the mayor and the regional minister, the meeting was attended by the first deputy mayor, Nati Francés; the deputy mayor for Education and Employment, Olga Granados; the general director of Economic Model and Employment of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Llorenç Pou; the general director of Tourism and Coastline of Calvià, Xavier Pascuet, and the manager of the IFOC, Darío Espallargas.
