Tuesday 29th October 2019

THE TRAINING COURSE ADDRESSED TO THE NEW GARDENERS OF THE URBAN ORCHARDS IN SON FERRER AND SON BUGADELLES FINISHES

Eight people have participated in the 'The family organic garden' free course

Eight people have participated in the 'The family organic garden' basic course taught by the agro-ecological farmer Miguel Ángel Lobo. The free course has had a duration of 10 hours, of which 6 have been theoretical - taught in the Deixalleria training room- and 4 hours of practice in the urban garden in Son Bugadelles.

The objective of the course, organised by Calvià Town Hall's Department of Natural and Urban Environment, has been to train the new gardeners who have been awarded a urban garden this year, either the one in Son Ferrer or the one in Son Bugadelles.

Last month, Calvià Town Hall handed over the keys to the 23 new beneficiaries of the urban gardens of the municipality, who can enjoy their use for 4 years. The Son Ferrer orchard, which consists of 16 plots of 50 m2, has been operational a few weeks ago, while the one in Son Bugadelles has been operational since 2014. The urban gardens of Calvià are designed as revitalisation spaces in which the users can invest their leisure time in an eco-sustainable way.
