CALVIÀ TOWN HALL THANKS THE INVOLVEMENT OF THE NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATIONS THAT HAVE RENOUNCED THE GRANTS TO DEDICATE THE BUDGET TO THE EFFECTS OF COVID-19
The allocation of more than 186,000 euros will be used to support people suffering difficulties due to the health crisis
The twenty neighbourhood associations of Calvià renounce the economic allocation for grants that the Town Hall had foreseen in the 2020 General Budget, and have asked that it be used in the new Covid-19 allocation that has been created to support affected people due to the coronavirus health crisis.
The mayor, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, the deputy mayor, Rafel Sedano; the councillor for Citizen Participation and Youth, Marga Plomer, and the general manageress of the Department, Margarita Segretín, have thanked the solidarity and involvement of all the associations in these difficult times, in an online meeting that they held this week.
Marga Plomer has explained that it is a total of 186,664 euros from the budget for the revitalisation of the different areas of Calvià, which will go now to the Covid-19 allocation, highlighting the effort that this involves for the associations since, amongst other things, this year will involve giving up the organisation of summer festivities, as they have been carrying out year after year. The Councillor for Citizen Participation and Youth has expressed on behalf of the Town Hall her satisfaction while seeing the solidarity reaction of neighbourhood associations at times like these.
The Covid-19 allocation is intended to support the most vulnerable people whose income has been reduced due to the state of alarm.
During the meeting, which was attended by the heads of the Calvià neighbourhood associations, the entities offered to help in any way they could to give a hand in the municipality's recovery, which Plomer thanked.
