Galatzó Skate Park opening

The Galatzó Skate Park has officially opened its doors today, which throughout the afternoon has had exhibitions of skaters, rollers, scooters and bikers, as well as young musical talents. A youth information point, a bottle cap workshop and a point for the No i Punt campaign have also been installed.

The opening was attended by the Mayor, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the Councillor for Youth and Citizen Participation, Marga Plomer; the Deputy Mayors Marcos Pecos, Rafel Sedano and Juan Recasens and the Mallorca Council Participation and Youth director, Àlex Segura.

The works have consisted of the renewal and extension of the existing skate areas, so the old modules have been removed and the track has been expanded making a continuous floor between the old and the new track that form a unique one with a total area of ​​1,500 square metres. In addition, new lights have been installed and a second entrance to the site has been opened, eliminating architectural barriers. The works have cost 289,679 euros.
