The use of the TIB Intermodal Card in the EMT buses has begun today, in the testing phase, specifically on the lines that go to the Son Espases and Son Llàtzer hospitals from some TIB inter-city bus interchange stops with EMT lines. Thus, for these routes it is not necessary to have two different transport cards and it represents a saving for the user, since in the combined trip between the two networks, the section made with the EMT is free of charge.

The pilot test was attended by the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the regional minister of Mobility and Housing, Josep Marí; the councillor Alfonso Molina, and the deputy mayor for Mobility of Palma, Francesc Dalmau, amongst others.

With the pilot test that begins today, it makes easier for Calvià residents the connection with public transport to get to their referral hospital with TIB free transfer on the EMT.

TIB users going to Son Espases hospital and travelling with Andratx (101), Peguera (102), Santa Ponça (103), Magaluf / Palmanova (104), Sol de Mallorca / Magaluf / Palmanova (105 ) and El Toro / Son Ferrer / Son Caliu (106) lines can transfer for free with EMT's line 29 at the Son Dureta stop.

Those arriving in Palma with Es Capdellà / Calvià / Son Bugadelles / Santa Ponça / Costa de la Calma / Palmanova / Son Caliu line (107) can take line 20 or 39 at Carretera de Valldemossa stop (near Ocimax) to get to Son Espases hospital.

The Intermodal Card must be validated both at the entrance and exit of the TIB bus and from now on it must also be validated, only at the entrance, on the EMT bus. A trip on the EMT is free of charge as long as the two networks are combined. To make the transfer between the TIB and the EMT, you have 60 minutes from the departure validation, and in the case of the reverse route, EMT and TIB, you have 90 minutes from the entry validation. Those users only travelling with the EMT bus to go to the hospitals without transferring with the TIB bus, can also do it from the stops indicated above, but the trip will cost them 1,15 euros (and not the 2 euros which is the price of the trip), amount which will be deducted from their Intermodal Card's wallet balance.
