THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL AND THE FUNDACIÓN CALVIÀ CALL FOR THE CURATOR AND ARTISTS TO PARTICIPATE IN BETART 2021
BetArt is an urban art project that contributes to highlighting different areas of the municipality by embellishing public and private spaces
The Calvià Town Hall and the Fundación Calvià call for the curators and artists to participate in the 2021 edition of BetArt in which new artistic interventions will be carried out. In this edition, the actions will take place in Calvià village and Es Capdellà.
Those interested can register until 19th August, in the case of the curator, and until 14th September, in the case of artists. The artistic interventions will take place from 9th to 23rd November.
BetArt is a plastic and urban arts project that began in 2012 in Calvià, and has been carried out biennially since 2014, with the aim of highlighting different areas of the municipality by creating new tourist attractions and improving public spaces and private or taking advantage of degraded spaces, while promoting an art that seeks interaction and dialogue with residents and visitors.
Since 2013, when elements in Palmanova and Magaluf were intervened, the actions have taken place in specific aeras. Since then, the Betart has been held in Santa Ponça-Galatzó, Peguera, and in 2018 in the area of Cas Català, Illetes, Bendinat, Portals and Costa d'en Blanes.
The last edition was curated by Darío Cobacho and artists such as Ammparito, Mario Mankey, Javier Garló and Maria Martín participated.
