Future Peguera and Son Ferrer Health Units

THE NEW SON FERRER AND PEGUERA BASIC HEALTH UNITS WILL HAVE MORE THAN DOUBLE THE NUMBER OF SURGERIES THAN THE CURRENT CENTRES

Between both HU they have more than 8.000 users

    

The future Son Ferrer and Peguera basic health units will have twenty-one medical and nursing surgeries, eleven more than in the current centres. This is a considerable increase in both facilities, which will significantly improve the attention to the citizens of the two urban centres of the municipality of Calvià. At the moment, between the two HU they have more than 8.000 registered users.

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the regional minister of Health and Consumer Affairs, Patricia Gómez, have visited the municipal land plots, the use of which has been transferred by the Town Hall to the Health Service of the Balearic Islands, and have learned about the ideas contests of both buildings, which have a budget of 8.3 million euros.

The event was also attended by, on behalf of the Town Hall, the deputy mayor for Social Cohesion, Nati Francés; the councillor for Peguera, Olga Granados, and the councillor for Son Ferrer, Alfonso Molina, as well as the councillors Marga Plomer and Rafel Sedano. On behalf of the regional ministry, the event was attended by the general director of the Health Service, Manuel Palomino, and the manager of the Primary Health Care of Mallorca, Miquel Caldentey.

The mayor thanked the regional ministry of Health for promoting Primary Health Care, from which Calvià will benefit with the new Peguera and Santa Ponça HU. "The Govern listens and looks for solutions, and we accompany you with the transfer of the two land plots," said Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, who described the new centres that will dignify the spaces to serve the public as extraordinary news.

The new Son Ferrer HU will be between Ca'n Ferrer, Pit-roig and Colom streets. It will have 1.571 square metres of constructed area, which means a significant improvement in terms of facilities and accessibility compared to the current centre. It is expected to have an area with twelve surgeries, seven more than the current centre. Specifically, it will have three medical surgeries, three nursing surgeries, one pediatric surgery, one pediatric nursing surgery, one social work surgery, one psychology surgery, one pharmacy surgery and a multipurpose surgery.

In addition to these surgeries, it will also have an area for special care and techniques (with a care room and a minor surgery room), an extraction area, a women's care unit (with a midwife's surgery and a room), a physiotherapy surgery and a dental health unit with four surgeries.

For its part, the future Peguera HU will be located at 10 Calle Monte (corner with Romana St.). It will have a constructed area of 1.317 square metres and is expected to have an area with nine surgeries, four more than the current centre. Specifically, it will have three medical surgeries, three nursing surgeries, one pediatric surgery, one pediatric nursing surgery and a multipurpose surgery.

In addition, it will also have a care area and a minor surgery area, an extraction area, and a mental health unit with three surgeries.
