THE MUSICALVIÀ COMPETITION GIVES YOUNG SOLOISTS AND BANDS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET ON STAGE AND LAUNCH THEIR MUSICAL CAREER.
Every year Calvià Town Hall's Youth Service organizes both a musical and cultural competition called MusiCalvià. The winners receive a voucher which can be exchanged for musical materials, or they can choose to make a recording in our multi-media production room in Es Generador or act as supporting artists for a well-known performer in a festival or concert. Soloists, groups and DJs can all participate in MusiCalvià, interpreting unedited tracks or versions which are unregistered with copyright societies, with the exception of those having public licence. At least one of the participants/components should be young, between the ages of 12 and 30 years old, and at least one member should come from Calvià. The young soloists, groups and/or DJs can enter the competition by sending a video of their act, produced and filmed on their own initiative. The classification system is divided into two phases: the first by popular vote through an official online platform; the second judged by a qualified jury.
