CALVIÀ NOW OFFERS TRADITIONAL MARKETS SEVEN DAYS A WEEK

SEVEN MARKETS IN SEVEN TOWNS TO BRING FRESH AND LOCAL PRODUCTS TO RESIDENTS AND TOURISTS

The new weekly market in Magaluf will start operating from Thursday, 5th September, the Palmanova-Son Caliu market from the 8th and El Toro from the 11th

Calvià Town Hall is expanding its network of traditional markets with the opening of three new weekly markets from September. The Magaluf market will open on Thursday 5th, followed by the Palmanova-Son Caliu market on Sunday 8th, and the El Toro market on Wednesday 11th. With these additions, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a market every day of the week in different locations in the municipality.

The initiative seeks to promote local commerce and improve accessibility to fresh and artisanal products, while reinforcing the proximity model that has characterised these markets over time. With a total of seven weekly markets, each day in a different centre, Calvià is positioned as a benchmark in the revitalization of local economies.

Each one of the new markets will take place in strategic spaces: in El Toro it will be located in the Plaza de Europa, in Palmanova-Son Caliu in the Amadip car park, and in Magaluf in the carrer Galió. These markets complement those already established in Calvià village, Peguera, Son Ferrer, and Santa Ponça, which operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, respectively.

In addition to the supply of food products, the markets will also allow the sale of plants, artisanal and organic products, and other items such as underwear, thus contributing to the strengthening of the social economy and the promotion of community cohesion.
