Town Hall lends a premises to Radio Taxi Calvią

CALVIÀ TOWN HALL LENDS A PREMISES TO RADIO TAXI CALVIÀ TO FACILITATE THE PUBLIC SERVICE PROVISION CONDITIONS IMPROVEMENT

The mayor and the president of the cooperative sign the cession agreement of the building that has been recently reformed

Radio Taxi Calvià will be located at a new work centre after the municipal premises temporary cession agreement signed by Mayor Alfonso Rodríguez Badal and Radio Taxi Calvià president, Fernando Luengo.

The 'Radio Taxi' headquarters and radio station are currently located at a municipal office, which was ceded in 1995, located in the service building of Cas Saboners, on Diego Salvá Lezaún street in Palmanova. It is a 84 m2 premises that, over time, has become obsolete both in terms of space and working conditions of people working in the call centre.

The building where the service will move to is a municipal one-storey building located at Calle Miquel dels Sants Oliver, number 11, in Palmanova, where formerly the old Guardia Civil barracks were located, and which was currently in disuse. The 164,03 m2 premises, occupying a plot of 280 m2, has been renovated to refurbish its interior layout as an office building, maintaining the existing structure, and adapting access for people with reduced mobility, with ramps to save the unevenness.
It also has an annex building to use as a warehouse.

The mayor of Calvià stressed that with this cession, the Calvià Town Hall tries to facilitate the work of this important public service in Calvià, as a residential and tourist municipality.

On his behalf, the president of Radio Taxi Calvià, Fernando Luengo, thanked the cession of the premises that will allow them, as it is a larger and more open space, to manage with better conditions the services offered by Radio Taxi Calvià, which includes 214 licences of the municipality and offers the radio station service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Therefore, municipal collaboration was requested with the aim of improving the conditions of the public service provision and increase the quality levels in the service provided to users.

The Radio Taxi cooperative will be responsible for the office's furniture, the supplies expenses as well as the conservation and maintenance of the premises.

The event was attended by the councillor for Maintenance, Alfonso Molina; the councillor of the area of Palmanova, Francisca Muñoz, and Mari Carmen Navarro, president of the Taxi Association of Calvià, as well as other members of Radio Taxi.
