CALVIÀ PARTICIPATES IN THE EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK TO PROMOTE HEALTHY HABITS AND REDUCE POLLUTION

Calvià participates, one more year, in the European Mobility Week (SEM), with a series of free activities for all ages, organised by the Town Hall's Department of the Environment and Ecological Transition, which will take place from 16th to 25th September.
The councillor for the Environment, Ecological Transition and Democratic Memory, Rafel Sedano, encourages Calvià citizens to participate in this week which, he recalls, is full of activities for all ages and audiences. Sedano emphasises that "The main objective is to raise and strengthen awareness and on a travel system that is sustainable, efficient, safe and more friendly, for the benefit of everyone"
The activities start on Friday 16th September and end on Sunday 2nd October with the celebration of Mobility Day, as the main event of the SEM, at the Palmanova Municipal Services Centre.
Friday 16th September
5.30 p.m. Night walk to the Mirador de n'Alzamora (viewpoint) from the Coll de sa Creu, with the collaboration of the Yais Mountain Club. Departure from Calvià Town Hall's municipal car park. (Prior registration required)
Saturday 17th September
11.30 a.m. Storytelling 'La bruixa que anava en bicicleta', by the IMEB, Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries, at the Casal des Capdellà.
Sunday 18th September
6 p.m. at Sa Societat in Calvià, cinema with the screening of the film Bikes, a children's animation production that was nominated for the Goya for best animated film in 2018. (Option to previously request a free children's snack)
Thursday 22nd September
7 p.m. Day without cars, bicycle rides in educational centres.
Sunday 25th September POSTPONED TO OCTOBER 2
Mobility Day, at the Palmanova Municipal Services Centre
9.30 a.m. Cycling outing to El Toro viewpoint, with the collaboration of the Calvià Cycling Club. (With prior registration)
10 a.m. Nordic Walking to Punta Negra, with the collaboration of Nordic Walking Palma. (Prior registration required)
10.30 a.m. Start of the Day, with a Road Safety Education circuit for children, games and Lila recycled vehicles, live music, psychomotricity games, exhibition of electric vehicles (scooters, bikes and motorcycles), exhibition of mobility and storytelling (at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., with the collaboration of Món de Colorins).
